I'm surprised cruisers still go to Papago Park. Sheriff Joe has made this place very hostile. First, the park closes on the park rangers whim, sometimes as early as 7 pm. I don't recommend entering through the exits unless you want severe tire damage. Second, the roads changed from 2-way to 1-way streets, which makes it difficult to navigate through the park. Third, the ramadas that received the most action are now closed and fenced. And last, the shurbs that provided privacy are now trimmed to make cruising visible to park rangers. I use to love this place 10 years ago, but nowadays too risky.

They continue to bust guys here, and that means a night in jail. Be very, very careful. Homophobic 'Sheriff Joe' is still targeting this park for cruising.

There has been some confusion concerning Popago Park. Trails are and have always been open. The new little yellow 'area closed' signs you might have noticed throughout the park are only for that immediate area. The trails behind and around them are open. Simply remain on marked trails -- and you can access them all from the ramada picnic tables or from roadside. The park is generally open till 11 pm for your enjoyment. Come on out...the nights have been perfect! And please don't forget to respect others and please Don't litter! And one last thing, If you are being harassed by park rangers you can file a report with the City of Phoenix.

Arrests continue. They do haul you in. I got arrested and it's not pleasant. Cruise somewhere else, boys. Sheriff Joe's donut-eaters are out in force here.

Well, I tried Papago Park after being away for a long time and whoa! The changes! Now it has a one-way loop to start, some pretty severe speed bumps throughout, and the loop at the end is now closed for biking instead. There were a few cruisers for lunch but none were cute. The design now at the park is just annoying and I'm sure that's how they wanted it. Sad, as I used to love that place and get so much action there.

After sundown, the cruising here is as good as it ever was and it was often quite good! I was doinked by a hung-ky white dude a few days ago. Then again by a studly Latino man about fifteen minutes later. Use common sense and clean up after yourselves!

Careful. Sheriff Joe?s boys are routinely out here. An arrest isn't pretty and they have to haul you in -- no negotiating.

Heads Up!
Avoid this park. Police are targeting cruisers by setting up decoys. Guys are getting arrested and rather than just issuing a ticket, are being taken to jail downtown. A friend had to pony up $8,000 in legal fees and still got fucked over.

The park has re-opened but the main road is now a one-way loop. Much of the cruising has now shifted to the very back of the park, along the canal, behind the fishing ponds and up at the (memorial) pyramid. This is my only 'Heads Up!': it's that time of year again, guys so be watchful for scorpions and snakes when you're tip-toeing through the tulips.

Park is temporarily closed to vehicle only. Park in the northeast section of the zoo parking lot (that lot is still open until 11 pm daily). Walk into the cruisy areas of the park. Now that the roads are being torn up for resurfacing, the rangers spend more time elsewhere.

I was arrested in mid-December at Papago. The cops told me they are cruising this area daily, not weekly or monthly. The experience of being booked and staying overnight (which is now required by the Phoenix police chief for these types of arrests) is not pleasant.

Heads Up!
A friend witnessed first-hand two undercover cops brutally arrest a Latin male last Friday at sundown in a ravine near the Galvin Parkway boundary. The two cops were on the thin side and one had long hair. Both were wearing black t-shirts. They parked their SUV in an isolated parking lot near the park entrance. The Latino probably wasn't sure what was going on so he ran and was pursued at first by the offending/entrapping cop. There is always a second cop nearby out of site waiting to help in the arrest. When the Latino ran up the ravine the entrapping pig pushed him very hard knocking him down into the rocky ravine hurting him.
These pigs have nothing better to do obviously. They say they act on complaints but they do it because they can get away with bashing gays. I never see them arresting the straights on the other side of the park who I have seen having sex on numerous occasions. I saw a guy fucking a girl against his car in the parking lot by the hole-in-the-rock, but that's ok because they aren't the easy target gays. I know that the pigs read this site regularly to get ideas for their next bust so gays be careful where ever you are. Right-wingers don't like anyone having the sex they can't seem to get. I think these people actually get off on busting gay people.

There has been some increased patrol activity in the park, but the few arrests almost always occur in or near the parking lots, and in the restrooms. The only heads up is to use common sense. Don't do anything remotely lewd in your car, in the parking lots or in the restrooms. Just pick up your used condoms and lube packets dummies.

I was at the park about a month ago. There were two undercover cops going out into the bushes and restrooms, trapping people. Then a cop car showed up a few minutes later and arrested the guys. One thing I noticed was that the cops wore loose shirts to hide their walkie talkies. One of the undercover cops had a gold Toyota like truck, and a goatee.

A newspaper article earlier this week said the Phoenix Police did a sting operation on Thursday evening, March 3rd. Undercover detectives scaled the park and made a handful of arrests after complaints were received regarding lewd conduct. One arrest in particular was made when a guy tried to initiate communication with the undercover detective by grabbing his crotch. Beware if you do go out there. Police cars patrol more often now.

I was there Monday around 1 pm and there was a guy there with a camera walking around. When I passed, him he attempted to hide the camera. He drove a blue Nissan Sentra with no plates.

I went to the park on a Thursday. Lunchtime is very busy throughout the park. There are lots of men driving around the park looking to make contact. I sucked off six guys and got five to cum. I ended the evening around 7 pm by fucking a tall, pick-up driving redneck. There's some action in the one open bathroom, but not too much as the Park Ranger office is next door.

Papago Park is usually a sure bet. It's mostly younger guys with a few old trolls mixed in cruising. Just be careful whom you are hooking up with cause if the guy is too good to be true, then he is most likely a cop! I personally search out for guys I've been with before. Other then that, this place is pretty damn good! The best time is from dusk till closing.

Be careful boys; the election may be over, but the cops and park rangers are still looking to crack down on the activities here. Local news just did a story on the park, too, so I'd be wary.

The hiking trails and the bicycle path along Galvin Pkwy. are best for cruising. All types but mostly white guys. Restrooms at the back of the park are usually closed and patrolled. But if that men's room is open it is usually jumping. All in all, Papago Park is always worth the visit but, as it is patrolled, you're advised to keep your eyes open.
