Was stuck in traffic on the Hollywood Freeway near Normandie couple nights ago. Fond memories of this bathhouse came to my mind (I remember going there in about 1981, possibly even before that) and I exited the freeway to see if it was open. I was shocked to see (and delighted) that this notorious fuck palace is still open. What's more, the parking lot was jammed with cars.

It was like a trip back to the olden days as I queued up to pay. They no longer provide membership cards, just a paper receipt. Inside it was pretty much the same, except the steam room is now a video room. Place was hopping.

I'm decades older now and gained 25 pounds during COVID, but I still enjoyed myself. Just remember to make sure that the attendant sees you pushing your used towel through the slot when checking out.

A lawsuit against the club alleges wrongful death and related issues and seeks damages in the case of a man who died here of a meth overdose in October, 2019. A trial date is set for September, 2023.

Since Midtowne Spa has closed I am looking for another bathhouse. There are no recent reviews and I gave not been here for quite a while. Curious to know if Melrose is worth going to, type of guys that go there, etc.

Any updates would be appreciated.

Flex has reopened with capacity limits and usually a line to get in. They are temporarily closed until May 28th as Netflix is filming a movie there.

Website seems like this business is still around, but does not give any COVID lockdown status. So, you must phone for status. Presently closed.

The spa and the steam room are not functioning since the former closedown. The employees state that there is a police fee which has not been paid and it is unknown when they will reopen these spaces.

Was here on 9/22/13 mid-day. Was not the greatest crowd but noticed that they had made some improvements to the facility. They installed a sling and some curtains to create private spaces in the orgy room by the steam room. At the other end by the gym they've created a theatre with four big screen TV's, padded benches, and more curtained off private areas. I don't have any complaints about the staff.

Yup. Agreed with most of the reviews here, both on the nasty-ass clientele and the rude staff, especially the anorexic looking Latino one with the wispy mustache. Avoid this place at all costs.

This review is based on my second visit to Flex on a very slow night, Tuesday. It was like a ghost town, and the ghosts I happened to bump into seemed more into gossiping about this or that. I normally don't mind this type of thing, but upon leaving this last visit I was greeted at the door by a gaggle of queens talking shit in Spanish. Very unfriendly and obnoxious. Apparently they were friends with one of the workers hanging out at the entrance.

Other than that the facilities were 'OK', just 'OK'. There's more 'private rooms' here than actual darkrooms or maze areas. The pool is nice, although no one's in it really; there was a few people with their smart phones on the side texting away. Lights are bright everywhere. Those with lockers have very few areas to play. And I'll be honest, I'm just a regular guy with a regular build, and a 'grower not a shower.' I actually became self conscious in this place instead of relaxed the more time I spent there. I'll pass on Flex in the future.

This bathhouse stands out from the other LA baths for its full weight room and its impressive garden area. The place is small and ought to expand the play areas.

This place used to be fun, but attendance is way down. They have turned all the lights up full blast so it's like a doctor's office. Most of the clientele is out of shape and tacky. The Hispanic workers are smart ass and tell off the customers. I asked for a room on the main hallway and was told, "You've been up here twice asking for this and you are a bitch like the owner. I should throw you out of here."

This place is as fun as the one in Phoenix. Even though they offer the discount price for the off hours, the clients have alot of LA attitude, and they aren't even that good looking. The play area is sub-par compared to other saunas. No gloryhole mazes and darkrooms so you had to rent a room and jerk off andd leave the door open if someone comes in. I tend to have better experiences at saunas with more seedy set ups.

No shit, this place used to be the most relaxing place to hang out on a Sunday. However, I stopped going there because the Latino workers are just too much with their gossiping. It takes the fun out of the place.

Went there last week and what a dump. if this is the best in LA then it is a sad day. The place needs to be clean, renovated and managment needs to hire some customer friendly personnel. The steamroom did not work properly and it was littered with condom wrappers and condoms. Maybe they only hose down the place just several times a week. The only nice thing was the parking. They did have a parking lot. They also need to add some porno channels and maybe build some more darkened maze or play areas.

I really feel that LA metro baths have a lot of cleaning up to do. The flooring to the rooms here needs some major renovations. Maybe I just picked a bad day to go, but I was not impressed with the place.

With enough guys, this place could be fun. But it's usually not full enough. With a locker, your choices are limited. There are only a few public areas to play (steamroom, a video area, and a small room with vinyl-covered mattresses). Unless there are guys into being exhibitionists, these areas remain mostly unused. Adding some privacy features to these areas would help encourage the guys without rooms to play a bit more.

This place sucks ass. No pun intended, trust me. I have been there a few times and each time I ask why the hell did I come here. The guys are usually old, white, and nasty looking. The only time I had fun was hooking with two of the cashiers. For the price you pay each room should have a TV. There is no reason to have to pay extra.

Maybe it's because of the Internet (easier to meet people and set up trysts) but this place is becoming more and more dead. Once upon a time, it was rocking! I loved it more than any other. But these days the few people who patronize it are pretty dowdy. The hot boys do not come here much anymore.

I had fun here. It's a big place. The 'No Bags' policy ended. Hadn't been here before. Apparently new video monitors have been added to some rooms. It's quite busy. All types to be found. The sauna was only real bad spot. It's too bright and really old.

It's better in the summer when you can relax by the pool and play in the steamroom. Most of the action is back in the rooms. Usually a few hot black men and worked out tops, but also the standard cast of married guys, old guys, tweakers and trolls. Turnover is quick, so hang out, enjoy the pool, be selective and you'll have fun.

This place has definotely served as an example of a club in castration under the Patriot Act. Every time I've been there, someone will warn me that there are cops or DEA agents there. The anti-drug signs there are an overdone headtrip as is the 'no bag' policy. That's right, if you can't wear it or carry it in uncovered, you will not be admitted. This is the only place in the world where you can leave and the staff will be wishing you well and looking forward to seeing you again, and then the next time you come you will not be admitted because your name is on an 86 list. Yes! The staff is that paranoid and they will do everything that it takes to let you know it. Once you are on their radar screens, you are history! Some have warned me that a lot of careers have been put in jeopardy because the staff works overtime. If there's one gay spot in LA to boycott. This is it!

This place has been gradually going downhill. It started a couple years ago when they stopped allowing you to take in gym bags or food. The place is rundown. They have raised the prices and turned the lights up. Attendance is way down. They were empty on a Saturday night. Not recommended.

This is the gay equivalent of a crack house. There are more and more people holed up in their rooms paranoid or wandering around aimlessly with glassy eyes. Back in the day this used to be one of the best places to get laid, but clearly the career tweakers have taken this over as their headquarters and ruined it for us all. In its defense it does have a great layout, pool and steamroom.
