In NOLA for Southern Decadence 2024, I can say that the Rawhide was very busy. Friday night the bar was packed. So many guys were in the backroom behind the beaded curtain that it was basically nuts to butts. To move was to grope someone. I sucked someone and was sucked but found it almost too crowded to really get into it. Other guys were fucking if they had enough space. Clearly folks were having a good time. It was a twenty dollar cover for that night.

For me personally, I had better experiences (and money's worth) at private parties such as Hit It which was widely promoted on social media prior to the weekend.

The Rawhide and The Phoenix have been facing action from the Louisiana Alcohol and Tobacco Control Office following complaints or observations of sex on premises, sex workers, drugs, and/or serving alcohol to minors. There is a separate controversy about women being excluded from an event at the Rawhide.

Although short-term ATC actions were taken, "ahead of the city's famed Mardi Gras celebrations, both The Phoenix and Rawhide are still open to the public and are proceeding with their planned weekend events."

Never had so much sex in one place in my life! I've been to sexclubs in New York and never had so much fun. The bathroom left me covered in manscent. I'll never get that much semen in one place again, but I'm definitely going back to try.

Francisco has mistaken Rawhide 2010 for the Phoenix off of Elysian. Rawhide is in the French Quarter; The Phoenix is not.

Visited for Southern Decadence 2013. The best part about this bar is the bar/darkroom upstairs. With the lights low and so many guys crammed together, you're bound to have a good time. They have "Blackout Night" on the second Tuesday of each month. The club is completely dark except for light from the glow sticks that they give at the door. Rawhide has switched management and the new management is focused on turning it back into a sex bar. However, at the same time, it is all very hypocritical. For instance, they will come through the back room every fifteen minutes with flashlights to break things up, but by the same token, they have a monthly ‘Blackout Party". They show porn in the backroom area but if you are caught with your cock out, you are kicked out. The worst, part, is that blacks are not welcome. If you are black and you go to the back area, you will be kicked out. DJ's are not allowed to play music by black artists in order to ‘keep away undesirable people'.
