Heads Up!

The posted location is not correct. The park is on the south side of Edgemoor and immediately west of Haw Ridge Park. The park has an asphalt 1/4 miles circle and fishing pier. Undercover Oak Ridge police are often present so be very careful what you say and do not break any laws while there.

Three men were arrested last Friday afternoon for indecent conduct. The Oak Ridge police use binoculars, night-vision devices and undercover sting operations.

Two men were arrested in December for having sex in a van parked in Solway Park. Not sure how they were caught, but Oak Ridge Police are using undercover officers to regularly patrol the park and nearby areas. Most cars leave the park when a police car arrives but the cars that remain are often scrutinized if they have one male in the car. If a man and woman are together, they are not harassed. Chief of Police Officer Beams urges his staff to target minorities and use profiling techiques to single out gay men. Officers beware! Gays are talking about filing officer complaints.

Heads Up!

A man was arrested in Solway park for rubbing his crotch and got a court order to stay out of the park. The charge were "indecent exposure," yet there was nothing exposed. Since then, the police are closely monitoring the park, boat ramp area, and Haw Ridge. There have been several complaints from residents. I've seen a man fucking a girl in a SUV, but the police smile and look the other way when that happens.
