I stopped by here in 2018 and 2019 for old time's sake. I wasn't comfortable even trying to cruise. It's a huge park, but the bulk is blocked to vehicles which means you walk, hike, or bike and it's a lot to hike once you gt back in there. Parking by the wooded areas is limited and usually busy with non-cruisers.

In the late 90s I did go walking on the trails and back in the woods. Ran into a couple guys, messed with one, chatted with another. In the early 80s this place was overrun with men cruising. Back then you could drive the entire thing and park alongside the road and go back into the woods. There were times it was hard to find a parking place even alongside the road. The park was open after dark and guys would go at it in the dark, either in the cars or out in the trees, just not deep in the woods.

Of course one night I witnessed a gay bashing, so crime was starting to creep in even back then. At some point after I left the area they permanently closed the bulk of the park with the metal gates that had the "This is 'People's Day' in the park so the roads are closed to vehicles." Longest People's Day I've ever seen LOL!

All in all while it might be a possible place to meet guys, it's risky and not what I'd call popular.

I don't know what the most recent reviewer is talking about, because this place always has cruisy action going on. I go by almost daily. It's sometimes hit or miss as far as the quality of guys, so some days I just leave without messing around.

Great in the summer with all the leaves. Even when the park is packed there are always guys around.

This is another reason why CFS doesn't delete places right away. Often there's contradictory information. I rely on cruisers to say what's going on. ~ Editor

I'm not even sure why this place is still listed. Overton Park hasn't been a cruise place for years now. Unless you want to go to jail, this place has been gentrified. Save yourself the time, you'll be there by yourself just sayin' and skip this park. See old reviews as to why.

Heads Up!
Newly renovated nearby playground and dog park has brought a lot of monitoring (police video cameras) and foot patrols, so this place is no longer safe.

Heads Up! Memphis police did a sting operation on the 25th and arrested seventeen guys. The police raid this park a couple of times a year.

On the 25th 'Seventeen men were caught exposing themselves during a Memphis police Vice sting in Overton Park. Memphis Police Detective Monique Martin says a sting was conducted by the MPD Organized Crime Unit Vice team after receiving complaints from citizens about activities that have been going on at the park. Martin says the complaints ranged from people asking for sexual favors in the park to public indecency. Investigators say during the sting, the men were caught exposing their genitals, mostly on the jogging trails. In some of the incidents, the men were sitting in cars and would expose themselves to people walking by the vehicles.'

A week ago someone was robbed and stabbed to death in Overton Park. This was the second robbery in the vicinity, so I would be very careful when in the park.

Park at the picnic area by the pond; go into the trails and find men "hiking". It can be very busy and very hot. In the winter, you can find men sitting in their cars looking for car sex, too.

This is a park not to be missed. I was there during the lunch hour and it was busy with lots of office types. I got sucked off while someone else watched. Look in the woods for action.
