In the words of a local news report, this park has become a meeting place for men who meet through "online same-sex personal advertisement" sites or Apps.

This came to public attention with the news of a man charged with murder who had an X-rated Twitter account. He answered the victim's ad, met him in the men's room, and claimed he was offended by the victim's sexual advancex. He admits to getting his gun from his car and killing the victim, then stealing the victim's car to escape. The murderer is suspected of other robberies.
